National Cricket Week 2016
Posted in Cricket.
This week was Yorkshire Tea National Cricket Week.
It's a way we try to support grass roots cricket, by encouraging thousands of schools to get involved through their local county board.
During the week, schools across the country enjoyed coaching in the playground, cricket-themed lessons in class, competitions at local cricket clubs and cricket festivals. And a few well known cricketers helped out too, like Charlotte Edwards and James Taylor.
In the build up to the week, pupils also had the chance to enter the Yorkshire Tea Cricket Commentator of the Year competition; a search to find the next generation of cricket commentators.
It's a celebration of the charity Chance to Shine’s work to spread the power of cricket in schools and communities - and we're very proud to be a part of it.
